After nearly two decades as a community, Lich Souls Gaming finally has a proper home on the web. Here's what we built, how we built it, and what's coming next.

After nearly two decades of existing as a community, Lich Souls Gaming finally has a proper home on the web. For years, everything lived inside Discord — announcements, event schedules, clan info, D&D recaps. That works for members who are already in, but it's a wall for anyone outside. A prospective member searching for an RS3 clan or a D&D group shouldn't need a Discord invite just to learn who we are.

What's Here at Launch

The site launched with dedicated pages for each of our active communities, all pulling live data where it makes sense.

  • Undead Legion (RS3) - live clan stats from the RuneScape hiscores API, a clan intro video, and a direct Discord join link.
  • Prestige Encounters (D&D) - campaign hub with a live party roster pulled from our character database, HP bars, stat blocks, and active status effects.
  • LichCraft (Minecraft) - live server status with player counts refreshing every 5 seconds, a one-click copyable server IP, and a link to the live map.
  • Stream Schedule - a full week view of our Twitch broadcast schedule with today's shows highlighted automatically.
  • Our Staff - the owners, production crew, and community officers keeping everything running.

Tech Stack

Built on Next.js with the App Router, deployed to Cloudflare Pages via @cloudflare/next-on-pages running on the Edge Runtime. Server components fetch live game data on every request — no stale build snapshots. Videos are hosted on Cloudflare R2 for zero egress fees. The design is custom Tailwind CSS 4 with a dark fantasy palette (obsidian backgrounds, spectral teal accents, lich purple highlights).

The entire site is open to the community. If you spot something broken or have a feature request, ping Trarn in Discord.

What's Coming Next

  • Competitive gaming page for our esports scene.
  • World lore, session logs, and an interactive map for Prestige Encounters.
  • Staff portraits — if you're on the team and want your face on the site, you know where to find me.
  • OG images for proper social media previews when links are shared.
  • More posts on this very blog.

This is version one. It'll keep growing as the community does.
